The pages of this site are free and will stay free : an official fact belongs to no one. What is sold here is the compilation work — extracting the Colorado tank register, reconciling it, dating it, and delivering it in a usable form.
Why the stream, not the snapshot
Cases advance. A release at site characterisation requested becomes one at corrective action plan being implemented, then closed. A snapshot records where every case stood on one day; the difference between two is what a portfolio holder wants to be told about.
What is in it
Every field below is measured on the delivered rows. A ⚠️ marks a column none of the three source files contains.
| Field | Description | Filled |
|---|---|---|
facility_id | The Division's identifier, the key to all three files | 100.0 % |
name | ⚠️ Facility name, case-normalised | 99.0 % |
address | ⚠️ Street address, case-normalised | 100.0 % |
county | ⚠️ County, case-normalised | 100.0 % |
category | Facility category, verbatim | 100.0 % |
tanks | ⚠️ ⚠️ Physical tanks, collapsed from 51,987 source rows to 47,538 | 100.0 % |
tanks_in_use | ⚠️ ⚠️ Of those, currently in use | 100.0 % |
material | ⚠️ ⚠️ Commonest tank material at the facility | 86.0 % |
bare_steel | ⚠️ ⚠️ 1 where any tank is asphalt-coated or bare steel — the one physical risk signal in these files | 100.0 % |
first_tank | ⚠️ ⚠️ Earliest installation year at the facility | 84.0 % |
releases | ⚠️ ⚠️ Petroleum releases, joined on facility_id at 100 % | 100.0 % |
releases_open | ⚠️ ⚠️ Of those, not closed | 100.0 % |
state_lead | ⚠️ ⚠️ Releases where the STATE is running the cleanup — the most telling status in the file | 100.0 % |
stage | The Division's own stage wording for each release | 100.0 % |
The 11 fields marked ⚠️ do not exist in the source : we add them — a join, a normalisation, or a reconstructed history. That is the part a buyer cannot reproduce by downloading the official file.
⚠️ The release file's contact name, phone and email are not in this dataset. They are not requested at download and not stored: they are personal details of named individuals, and nothing about the question this register answers requires them.
What it costs
- Change feed — USD 300 / monthOr USD 3 000 a year. At every collection, what came in, went out or changed since the previous one. This is the part that does not age.
- One slice — USD 90 / monthThe feed restricted to a single county, for those who do not need the rest.
- Full snapshot — USD 4 000, onceThe state of the register on the day of delivery, every field included. Listed last on purpose : a snapshot ages.
